Biography
Yasmeen is an undergraduate student in her fourth year of the Integrated Rehabilitation and Humanities program at McMaster University, with a strong interest in communication, child development, and equitable healthcare. She is excited to be part of the MCARES Lab for her fourth-year thesis. Her research will contribute to the COFFEE AND PLAY study, which explores how to support children’s language development in ways that are easier for families to access and use in everyday life. As part of the team, she helps analyze how the program connects with families, reduces barriers to care, and supports parents in helping their children communicate. Outside of academics, she enjoy playing the piano, going on hikes, and spending time with family and friends, which helps her stay balanced and grounded outside of school.

In her free time, Yasmeen enjoys playing the piano. She also enjoys listening to true crime podcasts and going on hikes.
