Aleeza Akhtar is currently a fourth-year undergraduate student in the Honors Health Sciences Program at McMaster University. She has a strong interest in health equity, healthcare disparities, and improving access to care for underserved and marginalized communities. Through her experiences in healthcare and community settings, she has become increasingly interested in research that explores barriers to equitable healthcare and patient outcomes. Although she is still early in her research journey, she is excited to continue developing her research skills and deepen her understanding of child health and equity-focused research through her work at the lab. She is grateful for the opportunity to learn within such a collaborative and supportive environment and looks forward to contributing to meaningful work that can positively impact communities.
