Biography
Meaghan is an occupational therapist with nine years of experience working in children’s rehabilitation and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Occupational Therapy program at McMaster University. Meaghan is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Disability Policy Research Program at the University of Calgary and CanChild at McMaster University. Supervised by Dr. Jennifer Zwicker and Dr. Michelle Phoenix, her research uses a community-engaged, co-design approach to advance eligibility criteria and service delivery models of federal and provincial disability programs and services to better reflect the lived functional needs of children with disabilities. Meaghan’s PhD research engages caregivers, clinicians, and health service managers to examine the implications of organizational policies and service delivery models on equitable access and engagement in children’s rehabilitation services. This research has generated recommendations for inclusive policy and service delivery design, emphasizing the importance of authentically engaging families in these processes.
