Biography
Oneli (she/her) is an Honours Life Sciences undergraduate student at McMaster University, contributing to equity-driven research for underserved communities and individuals with disabilities. As a research assistant within the School of Rehabilitation Science, her practicum focuses on evaluating co-design experiences in BRIDGE-CPT, a study that aims to create co-developed communication supports between autistic youth and their communication partners to facilitate self-expression, alongside advancing inclusive research through a CHILD-BRIGHT module series. She also contributes to projects exploring decolonial approaches to CanChild’s F-words framework. Beyond her current projects at McMaster, Oneli works with the Decolonial Disability Studies Collective at Carleton University to explore how decolonial and interdisciplinary approaches can improve healthcare and educational experiences, particularly for immigrant families and neurodivergent children.
